Marrakech, Capital of the Golf

It is in the city of Tangier that the architects Cotton & Pennink launched the construction of the first greens in 1914. A few years later, in 1930, still in British style and in the Scottish tradition, the Mohammedia Royal Golf Club was created. For decades, these two courses were the only ones in the kingdom.

Since then, the situation has changed.

With its 12 golf courses, Marrakech has established itself over the years as the preferred destination for golfers. Whether they are amateurs or professionals, Moroccans or foreigners, golf enthusiasts appreciate the ochre city for its mild climate in winter and its atypical courses. From the champion to the beginner, everyone will find here his happiness, so much the offer is vast and varied.

The Royal Golf, is the oldest golf course in Marrakech, known for its dense vegetation and narrow corridors. The Palmgolf Ourika is distinguished by its wide undulating fairways and 46 bunkers. The Fairmont Royal Palm stands out for its finesse of play, its 1001 colours and its numerous obstacles. The Al Maaden Golf Course is appreciated for its varied design and adapted to all levels of play. The 27 holes of the Palmgolf Palmeraie, its 11 lakes and water obstacles have been the setting for an impressive number of international competitions…

There are currently about 30 golf courses across the country. But Morocco does not intend to stop there and has undertaken to multiply the golf offer in the coming years, thus placing golf at the heart of the national tourist development policy.

Golfing friends, welcome to Marrakech, capital of golf!
