Morocco ranked 8th in the top 20 safest countries in the world

Morocco 8th safest country, according to Which? Travel

Morocco has moved up 12 places from the previous ranking of the safest countries in the world. It is now in 8th position according to the British magazine Which? Travel. It is also the 1st safest country in Africa and 2nd in the MENA region, behind the United Arab Emirates.

Which Magazine Which? Travel, which conducted this study, based its ranking on 3 criteria: crime rate, terrorist threat and risk of natural disasters. To do so, it compiled data published by the following organizations:

  • the World Economic Forum to measure the crime rate
  • the World Risk Report for natural disasters
  • the UK National Health Agency, which produces an annual global epidemiological assessment and also publishes a ranking of better health systems.

Overall, Morocco has less crime and less risk of terrorism than most European and American countries, thanks in particular to the widely praised effectiveness of its special services and security forces. The Kingdom can also claim contained crime and low natural and health risks.
