Formerly known as Mogador, the port and tourist city of Essaouira, is hosting the 19th edition of the Printemps Musical des Alizés, initiated by the Essaouira Mogador Association, from 25 to 28 April 2019.
The Printemps Musical des Alizés festival is Essaouira's major annual event that focuses on classical music. The festival now enjoys a reputation that extends far beyond the borders of Morocco. People come from far away and many marrakchi make the trip every year. Whether you are a novice or a real classical music fan, a resident of Morocco or a visiting traveller, this event is well worth a visit and can be an opportunity to discover the beautiful city of Essaouira.
Throughout these four days of the festival, young talents and internationally renowned artists will give concerts in the various squares of the city of trade winds, including the Dar Souiri cultural centre, El Menzeh square in the medina or within the walls of Bayt Addakira. Admissions are free and open to all, subject to availability.
All in all, this is a bold and enchanting event that, beyond its artistic value, allows an increasing number of visitors each year to discover Essaouira in its tourist and cultural aspects.
